1-BIT GAMBIT

Privacy Policy

Last updated 30 September 2026

The short version. 1-Bit Gambit has no accounts, no ads and no analytics, and it doesn't send anything to the developer. Your settings stay on your headset. When playing a friend over SharePlay arrives in an update, your moves will go to them through Apple's SharePlay, which is end-to-end encrypted.

Who this is from

1-Bit Gambit is a game for Apple Vision Pro made by an independent developer. Questions about this policy can go to ghwst@icloud.com.

What the game keeps on your headset

These stay in the app's own storage on your Vision Pro. They are never sent to the developer, and they're deleted when you delete the app.

Playing a friend (SharePlay)

Version 1.0 doesn't include SharePlay yet; it's coming in an update. Once it's there, this is how it works. When you start or join a SharePlay match, the game sends the other people in that session your moves, your random player ID, and the state of the match: whose turn it is, which look the host picked, resignations and rematches. This travels through Apple's SharePlay, and only to the people in your FaceTime call or nearby session. Apple states that information exchanged over SharePlay is end-to-end encrypted. The developer doesn't run a server and never receives any of it.

Your spatial Persona, and the call's audio and video, are handled by visionOS and FaceTime. The game never sees them.

Your hands, eyes and room

The game uses the standard visionOS gestures. visionOS tells the game when you pinch and move a piece, but not where you look: the glow on the piece you're looking at is drawn by visionOS without telling the game. The game doesn't use the cameras, the microphone, scans of your room or your location. Placing the board on a table is handled by visionOS.

Purchases

The Full Game is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Apple handles the payment, and the developer never sees your name, your card or your Apple Account. The game only learns whether your Apple Account owns the Full Game. Restore Purchases asks Apple what your account already owns. If you use Family Sharing, your family can use the Full Game too.

Analytics and crash reports

The game contains no analytics, no crash reporter and no advertising. If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers (on your Vision Pro: Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements), Apple may send the developer crash reports and usage statistics that don't identify you.

Children

1-Bit Gambit is a general-audience game. It isn't directed at children and doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age.

Changes to this policy

If the game ever changes in a way that affects anything above, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change.
